Hands down one of my favorite albums of this year so far. This Australian trio has a very defining electro-pop sound with an 80's feel to the band (think New Order/Joy Division/etc). It's nothing amazingly new or original, but it's a breath of fresh air in this sometimes stagnant genre. The disc plays like a dj set with one song providing a segue into the next, and it has a very smooth feel to it. Not surprisingly, these guys are solid on the decks as well. Their "So Cosmic" mixtape is also one of my favorites of the year. Hopefully the Craigslist gods will be kind to me and I will find a ticket to their sold out show this Wednesday at the Abbey Pub.1.
